Nana Kagga is a multi-award winning Producer, Screenwriter, Actress and Director. She co-owns Savannah MOON Productions a film production company in Kampala, Uganda. She attended the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom (UK) where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering before working for 3 years as a process engineer on US military contracts in Laguna, New Mexico (USA). Nana then decided to take some time off from Engineering and immerse herself in the acting world in Hollywood, California. Over the years, Nana has appeared in a number of Hollywood films, TV, commercials, music videos under the stage name Nana.

On Television, Nana appeared on CSI New York” on CBS, LIFE on NBC, Runaway Stars a web-series, Black Entertainment TV, BET and Uganda’s WBS’s Jam Agenda. She has done TV Commercials for Pepsi, DSW, Budweiser, Coors Light, KFC, Microsoft, Apple, Tylenol and Dove. Whilst working for Tullow Oil as a Petroleum Subsurface Engineer, Nana created, scripted, cast and produced the successful TV series “Beneath The Lies” which aired on Urban TV and included a stellar cast of Ugandan media personalities. “Beneath The Lies” was nominated as one the best television series at the AMVCAs (2016). Nana won Best Actress in Leading Role in a Drama Series “Prestige” at the Uganda Film Festival (UFF) 2021, Best Actress in Leading Role in a Feature Film for “Nalwawo” at UFF 2022 and Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film for “Maria” at the IKON Awards 2025. Nana’s feature film “ Mukisa” won Best Production Design, Best Director and Best Feature at UFF 2024.
