Membership Qualification

The Producers Guild of Uganda offers several membership categories, designed to accommodate a wide range of professionals in the creative industries and promote inclusivity, collaboration, and professional development across different stages of a producer’s career.

An applicant must have received an eligible producer or producing team member credit on qualifying productions, as outlined in the official PGU Credit Guidelines.

The credit must reflect actual work carried out by the applicant and be clearly attributed to them in the production’s opening or closing credits.

All submitted productions must meet or exceed recognized standards for distribution or exhibition, such as Cinema release, Premiering, broadcast on national/international networks, or availability on verified streaming platforms.

In addition to evaluating whether an applicant meets the stated eligibility requirements, the Guild may also take into account the applicant’s professional conduct, reputation, and overall experience. This includes assessing whether the applicant’s background aligns with the mission, values, and ethical standards of the National Producers Guild of Uganda (PGU).

While the information provided by the applicant is an important part of the review process, the Guild reserves the right to interpret membership criteria at its sole discretion. PGU may approve or decline any membership application based on its internal assessment, including but not limited to, considerations beyond the listed qualifications.
