Kizito Samuel Saviour is a renowned Ugandan filmmaker with over a decade of experience in writing, directing, producing, cinematography, and editing. He has helmed award-winning films like The Forbidden (2018), Uganda’s most nominated film, as well as Ssekukkulu (2023) and KEMI (2020). Beyond filmmaking, he is a Film & Video Production Tutor at ESOM School of Music (Uganda) and a Film & Television Studies Mentor at the University of Limpopo (South Africa). As the founder of the Uganda Academy Selection Committee (UASC), recognized by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, he has helped position Ugandan cinema globally.
Kizito co-founded Kyooto Media Group, fostering storytelling and talent development. His mentorship programs have produced award-winning films, and he has served as a jury member for festivals like the SAFTAs and Accra Indie Film Fest. In 2022, he evaluated entries for the Netflix-UNESCO African Folktales Reimagined Competition. As a speaker and panelist, he continues to champion collaboration and innovation, shaping the future of African storytelling.
