The Producers Guild of Uganda (PGU) is organizing a Film Producers Workshop aimed at equipping producers with essential knowledge and practical skills to strengthen their careers and businesses in the film industry. The workshop covers key areas such as company and intellectual property registration, helping producers understand the legal frameworks that protect their creative works and formalize their operations. Participants will also engage in sessions on distribution strategies, ensuring their films effectively reach audiences locally and internationally.
In addition, the workshop will explore practical and creative aspects of production through topics such as pitching and production design, while also addressing industry challenges like piracy and its impact on revenue. Producers will gain insights into film funding opportunities and learn how to engage with the Collecting Management Society for royalties and rights management. By combining both business and creative training, this workshop aims to empower Ugandan producers with tools to thrive in an increasingly competitive film landscape.
