The Elgon Filmmakers Association is a regional chapter of the Producers Guild of Uganda (PGU), dedicated to empowering filmmakers within the Elgon sub-region. The association brings together producers, directors, writers, and other film professionals to collaborate, share resources, and promote regional stories through film and television. It serves as a unifying platform for creatives, fostering a strong network that supports talent development and amplifies the cultural narratives of the Elgon region.

In alignment with PGU’s mission, the Elgon Filmmakers Association focuses on capacity building, advocacy, and professional development. It works to strengthen local film production through training programs, mentorship, and access to industry opportunities such as funding, distribution, and festivals. The association also plays an important role in upholding ethical standards, promoting local content, and increasing the visibility of regional filmmakers at both national and international levels. Through these efforts, it contributes to the growth of Uganda’s film industry from the grassroots.
