Malaika is a multi-award-winning Ugandan media personality with an accomplished career in radio, TV, film, and events. Starting As a model while studying at USIU in Nairobi, she graced runways and billboards across Africa and Japan before founding Strut It Afrika and co-founding Strut It Afrika Fashion Week 2013. Returning to Uganda in 2014, she quickly became a prominent TV host and producer on shows like Urban Today, The Urban Fashionista, The Loop, and Coca Cola Rated Next. She went on to co-host top-rated radio shows including D’Mighty Breakfast on 93.3 KFM and the Prime-Time Drive Show on Capital FM. Her TV work spans Rockstar TV’s Shoooosh, NTV’s Supa 3, and lead roles in productions such as the acclaimed series MELA.


In 2014, Malaika moved back to Uganda to pursue a career in the Media Industry. In a space of two years (June 2014 ‒ Nov 2016), she had landed four (4) TV Shows; Urban Today (as Co Presenter), The Urban Fashionista (as Presenter and Co Producer), The Loop (as Co Presenter, Producer, Director and Script Writer) and Coca Cola Rated Next season 3 (as the Host) on Urban Television.


On 4th April 2017, she joined the Radio Industry and co-hosted the AwardWinning Prime time breakfast show (DʼMighty Breakfast) #BrianAndMalaika on 93.3 KFM for 2 years. From 6th May 2019 to 26th May 2024, Malaika co-hosted the Prime-Time Drive Show on Capital FM #MalaikaAndOulanyah which is the biggest English Radio Station in Uganda. TV Presenter on Rockstar TV for Shoooosh, that airs across Africa and the United Arab Emirates on different platforms. She also co-hosted the weekly TV Game Show, Supa 3 on NTV and Bukedde TV. The lead actress for Ugandan TV-series, MELA by renowned creator and director Nana Kagga.
